An Ordinary Life

What I do, what I think

God says yes! September 7, 2008

Went for my first home cell yesterday. At the last minute, Hot decided he wanted to come with me, so I smsed the cell leader and asked her if it was ok and she replied in the affirmative.

It was an interesting experience and there was great food afterward. Harhar. Prior to the great food, the cell prayed over Hot and me and there are two members from the healing ministry in the cell, so one of them asked me, “Do you have any illness? Any problems with your reproductive system?” And I was like, “No, not as far as I know of.” And I was thinking, “Does not wanting to have children count?” but that’s not something I wanted to bring up. Anyway, the other lady said that God wants Hot and me to be together, that it is His will. The both of them then revealed that God had spoken to them even before we arrived at cell. While praying, God had also given them the vision that He wants Hot to be the head of the relationship and not the tail, and a wife must submit to her husband. I was then given Proverbs 31 to read and think about. It contains some really powerful verses about the wife of noble character.

Hot and I have always talked about how God has brought us together and we’ve always known for ourselves that it is His will that we be together. But it was just really, really encouraging to hear it from someone else whom God has spoken to. And the message was repeated by strangers during service today who spoke into our lives. We are affirmed as a couple, our relationship is God’s will. That is amazing because it says in Matthew 19:6 “What God has joined together, let man not separate.” So we know we will be fine, come what may. If God is with us, who can be against us?

I am grateful to be in a God-centred relationship because human nature is imperfect. It’s much more reassuring to put our faith in Him and trust Him than in another human being. It is also more reassuring to be with a God-fearing man because even if he wants to piss me off, he wouldn’t want to piss Him off. And for myself, well, there are many things said about what a wife should be in the bible and I’m telling all the men out there, a God-fearing wife is an amazing asset. Even if she can only accomplish half of what is stated in Proverbs 31, it’s already enough to make any man a very blessed man.

Oh, and the question about my reproductive system, Hot and I went for beer after cell. I needed to pee but was putting it off till I got home. And when I got home, I was distracted by my dog. When I finally got round to taking a piss, I had had a urinary tract infection. And it was serious. It kept me up for most of the night, and I prayed and prayed, and found enough relief to fall asleep just before dawn, till past noon today. I went to see the doctor and my level of infection was off the charts. The amount of blood in my pee was beyond the stated range. Levels of bacteria, ketones, protein, all at the extreme end of the spectrum. Of course some people may think that a urinary tract infection has nothing to do with the reproductive system. But UTI is often linked to sex, and it can develop to affect the reproductive system. Happened to someone I know. But anyway, I’m on a heavy dose of antibiotics and I feel ok now, except for the discomfort when peeing. Thing is, I didn’t even know I had an infection when posed the question.

Don’t play, pray, when dealing with God, that’s what I say.
